Software instruments are resource intensive but you've got resource to spare. There are also little meters for each of those functions, which I suspect will show you that you're barely taxing your machine.

This error message will interrupt your session and be very obvious. If it was the error message will read either "error: system overload" or "error: drive too slow" if it was the cpu or the hd respectively. Your specs suggest that it's not any kind of system overload. Thanks for any guidance or recommendations from anyone who has suffered this sort of issue.

So is it maybe the drum kit inside Logic Pro - causing everything to crash?.and if so.my alternate plan of buying a separate Drum Kit plug-in (like Superior Drummer or Slate SSD4 drummer) - might actually make the situation worse?.or might it take pressure off the Logic Pro programme itself and prevent this occurrence? We recorded 7 tracks last week without issue - albeit we were using a USB thumb drive to record and we were only using the L&R audio output from the drum kit. Logic Pro is running on my 2013 Retina MacBook Pro - with an i7 processor and 16GB of RAM - and we were recording onto a fast SSD drive via a Thunderbolt connection. This happened during every song we attempted to record and needless to say it ruined the practice session.įor background - we are recording 10 tracks - plus the MIDI track - all using the Behringer XR18 as the interface and with MIDI on pass-through. however when we listed to the playback - EVERYTHING had gone silent simultaneously.and there was no sound.even though the track was still appearing to record. As insurance we are also recording the standard L&R stereo outputs from the Drum kit as well.though the drums in Logic Pro sounds MUCH better than the drums inside the Roland Drum brain.Īnyway - about half way to two thirds through every song the Logic drum sounds would simply disappear from the PA/Monitors.we kept playing anyway - thinking well at least we are recording the MIDI signals and everything else - as the Play Head was still moving and appearing to record. We have started to use the "Drum Kit Designer" inside Logic Pro - and using the MIDI signals from the Roland TD9KV kit to trigger the drums sounds - and these are the ones we were playing along to as the drummer was playing.
